Aspirations as a teacher are to encourage mastery, competency, transformational learning, general skill transference of skills, meaningful learning, critical thinking, and empowerment.
Goals for my students are to equip and empower social change, impart the gift of life-long meaningful learning, enhance skills in various modes of instruction and knowledge of learning, volunteerism.
The methods I will consider reaching these objectives are learning/reading circles, interactive lectures, case studies, group work, community service projects, colleague collaboration and Student Outcome Assessment Plans.
Student understanding assessment methodologies are criterion-referenced, projects, papers, quiz, presentations, open communication and feedback.
I will continue to improve my teaching skills by student evaluations, being a life-long learner, maintaining a positive learning environment with students and colleagues.
