About Courtney
I have been teaching fourth grade for eleven years now and tutoring students ages 4 through 18 for eight years as well. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a K-6 teaching license, along with an additional Reading license K-8, a license to teach EL students PreK-12, and have also taken coursework for the current push in education, the Science of Reading. I have received Teacher of the Year two times, the last time earning top eight honors for the entire school corporation. Teaching is not just my career, but it is my passion, and truly my mission in life to help others grow to love learning, especially reading.

I have been teaching and tutoring for over a decade. I have worked with students ranging from ages 4 to 18. I have a great deal of experience working with students who have IEPs, ILPs, learning differences, and a wide range of special learning needs. I am currently a classroom teacher in a Dual Language Immersion program, which gives me the opportunity to really grow my teaching skills for my students with limited English proficiency. I strongly believe the ability to read and communicate in the English language is so important to lead a happy and successful life in this day and age, and my goal is to ensure that all students are afforded that opportunity.
