About Madison
I started in the social work field and moved to special education in 2018. I am currently in the Alternative licensure program to add on mild interventions. My license is originally in English Language Arts. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. I have taught elementary and high school special education. I love to read, take naps, iced coffee, thrift, walk, and be with my kids and dogs. Shopping might be my guilty pleasure and one that I need to take a break from. I have three young boys that keep me busy (7, 5, and 3) and two Golden Retrievers. I am very much so that mom that is always there, cheering them on, and their number one fan. I am very passionate about education and sharing my love for it. I have been through many obstacles in life and have learned that the only thing someone can't take completely from me would be my education. I am also planning to add my Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement to my license, hopefully in the near future. My middle son was born with a rare genetic defect and has hearing loss. I love making a difference in each student's life.

I like to use real life scenarios when working on English lessons. I do the basics of structuring a good sentence and writing assignment. I am extremely proficient at helping with work "catch up" in classes and explaining lessons that might have not been caught on to the first time around. I am also great at helping a student if they have failing grades or are behind in a certain class. I go in and we work together on assignments and help them to get caught up and raise their grade.
