Hello! I'm Tony Doiron and I have been an English Language Arts teacher based on the east coast of Canada for more than 20 years and I’m here to help you stress less about English and crush your academic goals. Get a head start on next year's English Language Arts curriculum through fun and interesting learning activities, targeting reading comprehension skills and the process of writing!

Hello! I have been teaching high school, middle school and elementary level English Language Arts for more than 20 years and I am excited to share my knowledge with you! All levels are welcome to participate. Sessions will be conducted through Microsoft Teams where you may choose to have your camera off or on. Once we identify how I can help you to refine your Language Arts skills, we will work through activities designed for your success, using mediums such as fiction and non-fiction texts, videos, podcasts and audio recordings. Some areas of focus may be:

Reading Comprehension - focus on decoding and fluency, vocabulary instruction and verbal reasoning. As well, students will progress through 3 levels of comprehension. These are:

Literal: Finding exactly what is written on the page.

Inferential: Reading between the lines using context clues.

Evaluative: Critically judging the author's intent or argument.

Process of Writing:

Planning & Brainstorming: Teaching students how to structure their ideas, collect relevant information, and create an outline before they begin writing.

Drafting: Encouraging students to concentrate on expressing their ideas freely without worrying about mistakes, so they can get their main thoughts down on paper.

Revising: Guiding students to review their work with their purpose and audience in mind, making changes such as reorganizing, refining, and expanding their ideas.
