About Kane
I am an A Level student who attended a state school and yet achieved within the top 100 statistically in The new GCSE 9-1 system. Whilst in my own education I actively organised revision groups in which I taught the rest of my class the content and advised them on how to revise efficiently. Being in the first generation of students to take the New 9-1 GCSE in all of my subjects, I am able to advise students and provide tips and tricks on how I was able to use the new style of subjects to my advantage. On GCSE results day this year I was interviewed and had a column in the local newspaper after achieving the best results in my school and local area.

Learning from my own experience my lessons are tailored towards covering subject specific content as accurately yet concisely as possible as I feel with the mass amount of content expected to learn in subjects this year, the most effective way is to learn content precisely as it would appear on an examiners mark-scheme, in this way there is no possible room for what I call,”a mark-scheme error”.
To combat this, my lesson structure consists of covering key words and key concepts at the start of the lesson. After covering this I will discuss what I call a ‘colour chart of knowledge’, in which the student identifies their strengths and weaknesses in the topic covered, before moving on to the main objectives.
I will then introduce an active recall activity on the knowledge learnt in the form of questions, flashcards or gap fills. This reactivates the knowledge the student has just learnt and forms solidarity in gaps of knowledge. This could cover exam technique or revision methods. By the end of the lesson your child will have covered the content three times and is therefore scientifically proven to have embedded the content into their long term memory which will be stored to recall at later dates.
At the end of every lesson the ‘colour chart of knowledge’ will be reintoroduced and your child will be able to reflect on their progress and achievement after the lesson. This is an important part of lessons as children may sometimes feel disheartened if they do not get a concept right away and so need encouraging and reminding on the progress they have made. The two reviews of understanding will be given to parents at the end of every lesson as a reference of progress and proof of their hard work.
