About Ruth
I am an enthusiastic woman who loves to learn new skills and better my knowledge whenever I can. I love to teach because the feeling of helping someone understand something that they previously did not is unmatched! With all the skills that I have gained, I would hate to not do anything with them but pass them on to others and help better the skills of people who need them the most. I am an incredibly understanding and patient person who tailors each lesson to match the student; every student is different in their own way and learns things differently so a big passion of mine is getting to know my students well and teaching them in the most effective way for them to learn!

In my classes, I tend to have a fun starter at the beginning related to a topic we studied in the previous lessons followed by an overview of the new topic. Then I dive deeply into the new topic using presentations, analogies and diagrams. After that, my student can ask any questions and I'll go over anything that was misunderstood. Then we leave plenty of time in the end for practice because this makes perfect! I'd give you exercises to complete, going through some examples with me followed by having a go at some questions by yourself and us running through them together at the end.
I was an online English tutor for about a year, helping foreigners better their English speaking, reading and writing skills. I also was a violin teacher for 8-year-olds for around a year also.
I am more than happy for lessons to last from 1hr to 1hr 30minutes.
My teaching is aimed at children aged 5-15, who want to be tutored in English, Maths or any of the 3 sciences(Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
