About Steiner

I hold a Master's degree in Politics of Population, Migration and Ecology from Birkbeck, University of London, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Barcelona. Alongside my academic background, I have worked in the UK House of Commons for over 13 years, including supporting parliamentary and Select Committee work.

My professional experience allows me to bring real-world examples and practical insights into my lessons, helping students connect political concepts to current events and understand how government and policymaking work in practice.

I specialise in supporting GCSE and A-Level students in Politics, History and essay-based subjects. My teaching focuses on developing subject knowledge, critical thinking, essay-writing skills and exam technique. I aim to explain complex topics clearly and build students' confidence so they can achieve their academic goals.

As a native speaker of both Spanish and Catalan, I also offer Spanish language tuition for students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations, as well as learners wishing to improve their conversational skills.

Although I am new to professional tutoring, I bring extensive experience supporting learning and development in my professional career. Every lesson is carefully planned and tailored to the individual student's needs, strengths and learning style.

My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their understanding and reaching their full potential.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring focuses on building confidence, developing a clear understanding of key concepts, and strengthening exam technique. I aim to make lessons engaging and relevant by using real-world examples, including insights from my professional experience working in the UK Parliament, to help students connect theory to current affairs and practical political issues.

Each lesson is tailored to the individual student's needs and goals. Whether a student is looking to improve their subject knowledge, develop stronger essay-writing skills, prepare for exams, or build confidence in the subject, I provide structured and personalised support.

My lessons typically follow a clear framework:

Review of previous learning and progress
Explanation and discussion of new topics
Guided practice using examples and exam-style questions
Constructive feedback and targeted improvement strategies

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although lesson length can be adapted to suit the student's requirements.
