About Sopa
I have been a classroom teacher and curriculum lead in 10+ schools during my 20 years of experience predominantly in Outstanding schools. I regularly write articles on all aspects of philosophy: (concealed information) My expertise lies in communicating complex ideas simply and accurately in planning deep, coherent and progressive lessons, time-tested for success and refined over the years, in every topic of the curriculum. As a writer I understand how to structure essays, remaining focused on a single thesis and leaving no stone unturned. I have moved students from E-C, C-A, and A-A*. I love philosophy and know how to bring it alive.

I am an experienced Philosophy teacher with over five years of classroom and one-to-one teaching experience, specialising in A-Level Philosophy. I have taught all four units of the Philosophy curriculum and understand exactly how examiners award A and A* grades — not just in theory, but in practice. My approach focuses on: Clear explanation of especially difficult areas - metaethics, functionalism, religious language. Training students to write exam-ready answers, especially exactly how to write top band essays consistently. AQA trained teacher. I am DBS checked, highly organised, and experienced with students of varying confidence levels — from those aiming to pass to those targeting top grades. This is not generic tutoring.
