About Isabella
Hi, I’m Isabella! A Media and Communications graduate from the University of Sussex, where I achieved a First in my dissertation and previously earned an A* in Sociology and As in Media Studies and Politics at A-level. I’m a passionate believer in the power of knowledge. As someone who’s worked as a journalist, editor, and student mentor, I know how important it is to not only understand a subject but to feel confident expressing it, especially in exams and coursework. That’s why I aim to make every session supportive, clear, and tailored to your goals. I’ve written over 40 published articles, led a student newspaper with over 200 contributors, and been invited to speak on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sussex about my work. These experiences have taught me how to communicate complex ideas simply and powerfully - something I bring into all my teaching. I want to tutor because I know how life-changing good support can be. I genuinely enjoy helping students break through self-doubt, master tricky topics, and realise what they’re capable of. I am proudly neurodivergent friendly, and I am happy to offer lower prices if you are a recipient of free school meals or from a low-income background. Whether you're aiming for top grades, or just need help making sense of it all, I’m here to help you get there. Let’s turn your potential into progress!

Looking for support in Sociology, Media Studies or Politics at GCSE or A-Level? I’m Isabella, a recent graduate in Media and Communications from the University of Sussex, where I achieved a First on my dissertation and previously earned A* in Sociology, and As in Media and Politics at A-level. I have worked for several publications including New Internationalist, and was awarded Best Student Journalist in the South East by the Student Publication Association. Additionally, I have knowledge in Media Law and creating ethical journalism. Furthermore, I have in-depth knowledge about the media. Having worked as a senior editor, journalist, and student mentor, I understand how to break down complex theories, structure strong essays, and build academic confidence. Whether you need help understanding Marxist theory, exam prep strategies, or guidance with coursework and structure. I offer clear, friendly, and personalised tutoring sessions online aimed at GCSE and A-Level students aged 11+. The length of a lesson will be 1 hour a session, unless requested otherwise. I have kept my A-Level notes and A* essays to help you understand how to get the top grades.
I am cool, calm and collected, and aim to focus on improving your broad understanding of each topic in order to help you give your essays more depth, complexity and clarity. I understand what revision techniques and tools work, and I am here to support you through your learning journey. I create tailored lesson plans based on your goals and learning style, and can also support with improving writing skills, research methods, and time management. I am neurodivergent friendly, so whatever your learning requirements - I am here to accommodate them.
