About Wren
Hello! My name is Wren, and I am a certified educator with experience teaching ELA and ELL classes at the middle and high school level. With a Master's degree in teaching, I have learned the value of intentionally designed instruction tailored to meet each student's needs.
I believe that learning should be challenging, meaningful, and enjoyable. Every student is capable of growth when given the right support, and I love helping learners achieve goals they may not have thought possible.
My approach to tutoring goes beyond helping students complete assignments or prepare for tests. I strive to teach the skills and strategies students need to become independent, confident learners. Whether we're working on essay writing, reading comprehension, organization, or academic confidence, I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs and goals of the student.
When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy playing electric guitar, bass, reading, swimming, spending time outdoors, and continuing to learn new ways to support student success.
I look forward to partnering with students and families to help learners grow academically and develop confidence that lasts far beyond the classroom.

Hello! My name is Wren, and I am a certified middle and high school teacher with experience supporting diverse learners in grades 6–12. I specialize in English Language Arts, reading comprehension, academic writing, study skills, and multilingual learner (ML) support. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop strong academic skills and executive functioning strategies, and achieve lasting success both inside and outside the classroom.
I focus on:
-Building confidence through achievable goals
-Teaching organizational and study strategies
-Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-Using evidence-based literacy and writing practices
-Differentiating instruction to meet each student's unique needs
A typical lesson for each student will vary depending on goals and needs; however, implementation of goal setting and self-monitoring is a key practice I use to support intrinsic motivation.
As a classroom teacher and certified Multilingual Learner educator, I understand how to support students with a wide range of learning needs and backgrounds. I create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and growing as learners.
