My teaching style is highly individualised to meet the needs and interests of the student. I received my pedagogical training during my DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford and have developed my teaching methodology and philosophy within the Oxbridge tutorial system. When working with students, my aim is to help them to become the best literary critics, critical thinkers, and writers they can be. I offer individually tailored feedback, giving students clear and actionable suggestions for improvement while also helping them build confidence in their existing skills. I also have experience as a study adviser to undergraduates reading humanities disciplines. As an academic with ADHD, I understand how much of a positive impact specialised tuition for students with neurodivergence can have on overall confidence, enjoyment of studies, and success in assessments.
I would be happy to work with students studying any of the following:
GCSE level: English Literature, History, French
A-Level: English Literature, History, French, Classical Civilisation, History of Art
Advanced Placement: English Literature, European History, French, History of Art
Undergraduate: English Literature (any texts or period)
Study Skills: Humanities study skills, workload management, and writing workshopping
I am also happy to advise students on their UCAS applications for undergraduate humanities courses or postgraduate English Literature courses in the UK.
My tutoring sessions typically last an hour. I can provide pre-structured lessons or we can work together on texts or essays you are currently looking at in school or at uni.
