About Carlos
I'm Carlos, and piano has been part of my life for longer than I can remember.
I didn't fall in love with it because someone told me to practice scales for an hour every day. I fell in love with it because at some point, I sat down and played something that actually meant something to me — and the feeling was unlike anything else. That moment is what I try to recreate for every single student I work with.
I've played across a lot of different settings over the years. Different styles, different audiences, different contexts. And what all of that experience gave me — more than technique, more than theory — was perspective. An understanding of what the piano can really do when you stop treating it like a chore and start treating it like a conversation.
I work with everyone. Kids who are just starting out and need someone patient enough to make it fun. Adults who always wanted to learn but kept putting it off and are finally ready. People somewhere in the middle who've been playing for a while but feel like they've stopped growing. If you have any kind of interest in the piano, I want to help you figure out what to do with it.

Here's something I noticed early on in my teaching — the students who quit aren't usually the ones who found it too hard. They're the ones who stopped finding it interesting.
So that's the thing I protect most in my lessons: your interest.
That means we work on music that actually matters to you. A song you've loved for years, a style you've always been drawn to, something you heard recently and thought "I wish I could play that." That's where we start.
The technique, the theory, the discipline — all of it gets built around music you genuinely care about, not the other way around.
Every lesson is different because every student is different. Some people want structure and clear goals. Others want a bit more room to explore. Some kids need games and creativity woven into everything. Some adults want to understand the "why" behind what they're playing. I pick up on all of that pretty quickly and adjust accordingly.
What stays the same across all of it:
You'll always leave knowing exactly what to practice and why — no vague homework, no confusion about what to focus on.
We move at your pace. Not slower than you need, not faster than you're ready for.
I keep things honest. If something isn't working, we talk about it and find a different way in. No sugarcoating, but no unnecessary pressure either.
And above all — it should feel good to sit down at the piano. That feeling is something I take seriously.
The piano is one of those instruments that genuinely rewards you the more you put in. I'd love to be the person who helps you find that out for yourself.
