About Maia

I have been studying violin since I was 8 years old and I am currently working professionally in music. I have been teaching violin for 9 years to students of all ages trying to focus on learning based on the student's musical preferences. I think this is the best way to generate motivation. I specialize in Tango: it is a very beautiful music from my country that cannot be performed just by reading a sheet music. There is a hidden language that is learned purely and exclusively in the exercise of playing it. This is how I was formed in the Orquesta Escuela Emilio Balcarce: a large tango orchestra with aspirants from all over the world and with an audition that selects only 7 violinists every two years (also 7 bandoneonists, 2 cellists, 2 violists, 2 pianists and 2 double bassists). There I shared wonderful experiences with great musicians and I would love to be able to share that knowledge with other musicians who like to study Tango.

About the lesson

I work on the student's desire, on what he wants and decides to do with music and with the violin. I use to work in a relaxed way and I always try to create bonds of great trust with my students. Tango is also, like many other things in Argentina, a subject in which SHARING is a keyword !! I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with those who want to soak up this wonderful music.
