About Mily

Hi, I’m Mily!

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and I live in Vancouver.

I've been teaching Japanese online for 3 years now!
I teach a variety of ages, from children to adults!

I have experience teaching Japanese at the University in Tokyo.
Also, I was a tutor at a University in the US, too.

I speak English and a little bit of Spanish.
I've been studying French and German, too.

I love teaching Japanese, about Japan and Japanese culture!

I’m interested in other countries’ culture or history, too.
So please let me know what kind of topics you are interested in!

About the lesson

*These courses are just references, so the contents and goals of classes will adjust for each student's Japanese levels, goals, and interests.

●BEGINNERS 1
GOALS:
By the end of the Beginners 1 lessons, you'll be able to handle easy daily conversation and read and write easy texts with hiragana, katakana, and about 145 kanji.
In these courses, I teach with a textbook called "GENKI I" for English speakers.

●BEGINNERS 2

GOALS:
By the end of the Beginners 2 lessons, you'll be able to handle more advanced daily conversation easily and read and write about 172 kanji, and you'll be able to read more difficult texts and read and understand easy manga in Japanese.

In these courses, I teach with a textbook called "GENK III."

●INTERMEDIATE

GOALS:
By the end of the intermediate lessons, you'll be able to have more natural conversation.
And, you'll be able to read and write kanji and read and understand manga or anime in Japanese.

In this course, we can choose a topic, and we can talk in Japanese!

●ADVANCED

GOALS:
By the end of the advanced lessons, you'll be able to use formal words and informal words depending on the situation and have more academic conversations about jobs, politics, histories, etc.

In this course, we can choose a topic, and we can discuss more difficult topics such as social issues in Japanese!
