About Catalina

I have studied Literature and Linguistics at University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (my home country), finishing my degree in 2006. In 2009 I got my certification as a Spanish Teacher at International House Buenos Aires and I have just finish my University Expert Diploma at UNED (Spain). Since may 2018 I have been delivering online Spanish curses to students of many different nationalities, developing my own material and learning about the different possibilities technology can offer to make an online lesson a great experience. I love the art and craft of being a teacher.
As a storyteller, I have travelled many countries either studying or offering workshops and shows to a public of all ages. I had the possibility of living all the different Spanish varieties that makes the beauty of this language.
I speak English, French and Portuguese and I am currently learning Arabic, since I am living in Morocco, quite close to the dessert, in a place where the sky is always blue.

About the lesson

I am a certified Spanish teacher, Storyteller and have a degree in Literature and Linguistics. I deliver online courses since may 2018.
The art of storytelling is the art of communication, and my experience as a storyteller has allowed me to approach language in a flexible and playful way, learning a great deal about the ways in which people listen and maintain attention – something very important during a lesson! Motivation, when learning a language, is essential. My academic training and my experience in teaching allows me to quickly identify the important points to work with each student, and enables me to offer clear explanations about the aspects of the language that may be problematic for Spanish learners.
I propose a teaching method centered on the student: it is his/her interests, learning objectives and way of learning that shape the class. If you like stories, then we’ll surely explore together all the wonderful things they offer. We will work on the four skills of language (listening, speaking, writing and reading, in addition to oral and written interaction) using textbooks, games and a wide range of authentic material, to create a learning environment that allows the student to achieve his or her goals with ease and enjoyment.
