About Gaurav

Hi, I’m Gaurav, a passionate musician and piano teacher who loves helping people discover the joy of playing music.
My own journey with music has taught me that learning an instrument is not just about playing the right notes — it’s about developing confidence, creativity, patience, and a genuine connection with music. That is the approach I bring into my teaching.

I enjoy working with students of different ages and backgrounds, and I especially love seeing the moment when a student goes from *“I can’t play this”* to *“I actually did it!”*

As a teacher, I’m patient, encouraging, and attentive to each student's individual learning style. I don't believe that every student should be taught in exactly the same way. Some students learn best through songs, some through understanding theory, and others through repetition and practical exercises — so I adapt my teaching accordingly.

Outside of teaching, music continues to be a big part of my life. I’m always exploring new music, learning, playing, and looking for better ways to communicate musical ideas to my students.

Whether you're completely new to piano or looking to improve your existing skills, I’d love to help you make music something you genuinely enjoy.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching piano is simple: I want you to understand what you are playing, enjoy the process, and gradually become confident enough to play on your own.

I tailor each lesson to the student's age, level, goals, and musical interests. Whether you are starting from scratch, returning to piano after a long break, or already have some experience, we will build the right foundation while keeping the lessons practical and enjoyable.

**My teaching methodology**
• Strong focus on technique, rhythm, coordination, and musicality
• Learning songs alongside essential piano fundamentals
• Breaking difficult pieces into small, manageable sections
• Developing sight-reading, ear training, chords, scales, and music theory progressively
• Helping students understand *why* they are playing something instead of simply memorizing notes
• Adapting lessons to the student's learning pace and musical interests

I also encourage students to bring songs they genuinely enjoy. I believe learning music you connect with makes practice more motivating and helps you develop real-world playing skills.

**Lesson length**
Lessons are typically **45–60 minutes**, depending on the student's age, level, and goals. Each class combines focused learning, playing, correction, and practical guidance so that you leave the lesson knowing exactly what to work on.

**My experience**
I have experience teaching piano students with different levels of ability, from complete beginners to students who already have some playing experience. I focus on creating a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and improve without feeling pressured.
