About Nyra
I’m a pianist, composer, and performer with 14 years of experience teaching students of all levels. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano Studies, and my background includes both classical training and creative exploration. Music has been a lifelong journey for me, and I see teaching as a way to share that ongoing discovery with others. I believe that whether you're just beginning or refining advanced skills, there's always something new to learn at the piano. As a composer, I bring a creative perspective to lessons, encouraging students to think musically and explore their own ideas. I’ve worked with young beginners building their first scales, as well as seasoned players preparing for auditions or performances. No matter the level, I tailor each lesson to fit the student’s goals, strengths, and pace. Technique, expression, and understanding go hand in hand in my teaching. I focus on helping students become fluent, confident players who can enjoy music throughout their lives. We look closely at sound, structure, and meaning in the pieces we play. I also encourage improvisation and musical curiosity, especially when it helps deepen understanding. The piano is more than an instrument—it’s a voice, a craft, and a companion. I’m here to guide and support you on your musical path, wherever you are in the journey.

My piano teaching approach focuses on building musical fluency step by step. I help students learn how to read music clearly, play with expression, and understand how songs are put together. We use rhythm drills and finger exercises to build a strong foundation and develop control. I place equal importance on technique and feeling, so students can play with both precision and emotion.
Each lesson is shaped around the student’s pace and goals. Whether someone moves quickly or needs time to absorb new skills, I adjust the material to suit their learning style. I support students who aim high and are ready to be challenged. I guide them in mastering details, refining performance, and developing a confident stage presence.
We look closely at how songs work—phrases, patterns, and dynamics—so students learn to think like musicians. Interpretation is a big part of what I teach, helping each player bring out the character of a piece. I encourage regular practice habits and a steady, focused mindset. My goal is to help students grow not just in skill, but in joy and connection with music.
