About Crystal
My path to becoming a medical student has been anything but easy — and that’s exactly why I’m here to help others succeed. In high school, I challenged myself with honors and AP courses, graduating with straight A’s. At UCLA, I quickly learned that being surrounded by thousands of high-achieving students meant I had to rethink how I studied and how I learned. The transition was hard, and I didn’t perform as well as I wanted. But I didn’t give up. After graduating, I completed a post-baccalaureate pre-med and general science certificate program, finishing with a 3.8 GPA. From there, I earned a Master’s in Biomedical Science at the California University of Science and Medicine, graduating with a 4.0. Now, I’m a second-year medical student — and I bring all of that experience into how I tutor. I’ve mastered these subjects through both success and struggle, and I know firsthand what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by coursework. That’s why I approach tutoring with patience, encouragement, and strategies that actually work. I don’t just want you to pass your next exam — I want you to feel confident in how you learn and how you think. Whether you're a middle schooler trying to get through algebra, or a pre-med student tackling the MCAT or a tough science course, I'm here to help you reach your goals — one step, one question, and one strategy at a time.
