About Carl
I have taught guitar for 6 years, first in a music school and now from my own studio. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar, which gave me a strong grounding in harmony and rhythm. I use that training daily, even when teaching simple pop songs.
My favorite students are the ones who think they have no talent. A retired man once told me his hands were too old to learn, and within three months he was playing his wife's favorite song. I keep that story in mind whenever a beginner doubts themselves.
Lessons with me are structured but never stiff. We set small goals each week and actually reach them. I send short video recaps after lessons so students can review at home.

Most new guitarists struggle with changing chords quickly, so we attack that first. I teach students to move between two chords slowly with a steady beat before adding any speed. Within a few weeks the changes start to feel automatic.
Rhythm practice runs through every lesson. Students strum along with me, then with a metronome, and finally with real songs. One student who wanted to play at family gatherings learned twelve songs in four months this way.
I keep theory light and useful. You learn what a chord is made of and why certain chords sound good together. That knowledge makes learning new songs much faster.
Lessons are relaxed and built around the music you love. If your goal is singing along at a campfire, we will get you there with solid strumming patterns and clean chord changes. You will leave every lesson with something you can already play.
