About Calla

I’m a guitar teacher with over 11 years of playing and teaching experience, and a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus in guitar. I’m passionate about helping students turn their feelings and stories into music they can actually play and share. In my lessons, emotional expression and solid technique always go hand in hand. We work on tone, touch, articulation, and dynamics so every note you play feels intentional and alive. I also place strong emphasis on music theory, but I teach it in a way that feels practical and connected to the songs you love. You’ll learn how chords are built, how scales relate to harmony, and how to use that knowledge creatively on the fretboard. I guide you in navigating the neck with confidence, connecting positions, shapes, and patterns so you’re never “stuck” in one box. Whether you’re playing rhythm, lead, or creating your own arrangements, I’ll help you understand where you are on the fretboard and why it matters. My approach is structured but flexible, always adapted to your goals, pace, and musical tastes. I love working with both beginners finding their sound and experienced players looking for deeper expression and refinement. Together we break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. I use backing tracks, focused exercises, and musical projects to keep practice engaging and goal-driven. Above all, my aim is to help you feel more connected to your instrument, more confident in your skills, and more expressive every time you play.

About the lesson

I offer technique-focused and expressive guitar lessons that help learners grow with clarity, confidence, and creativity. My sessions place strong emphasis on electric guitar, tone shaping, and performance coaching for students who want to sound polished on stage or in the studio. I design engaging lessons that blend structured skill-building with expressive play.

I also teach small group sessions where students collaborate, learn ensemble dynamics, and stay motivated together. Each lesson is aligned with a clear curriculum so progress feels consistent and purposeful. I support learners who are returning to guitar after long breaks or those recording their own music, giving them practical guidance to refine their sound and move forward quickly.

Digital tools make learning fun and interactive. I use amp simulators for tone exploration, chord diagram apps for quick visualization, and DAWs to help students shape recordings and understand modern production flow. My goal is to help guitarists develop technique, musicianship, and artistic identity while enjoying every step of the journey.
