About Joni
I’m a classically trained clarinetist, I’ve playing for 12 years! I play jazz double and electric bass, piano and saxophones! I’m also a jazz studies minor and a music education major! I’ve been fortunate enough to have my skills and education broadened by some of the most prestigious musicians! Music school has allowed me to gain an extensive understanding of music theory and history. Experience comes day by day, there’s always something more to learn!

From one student to another, I know how intimidating it can be to learn a new instrument! So I’ve designed the perfect itinerary to learn your desired instrument as efficiently and simple as possible. First we’ll start with fundamentals of music, it’s important to establish a general understanding of the music basics. After music fundamentals have been established, it’s time to learn about the instrument, it’s critical you know your instrument inside and out! After we have a foundation to build on, we’ll begin to work on learning the instrument. Music lessons will revolve around the instrument fundamentals, i.e. where the notes are, then learning scales! Simultaneously moving into playing pieces suitable for your skill set.
