About Alfredo Augusto

I understand perfectly what it means to struggle with maths, because I've been there myself.

For years, I couldn't apply formulas or even understand what I was doing. I had teachers who simply didn't know how to teach, wouldn't admit it, and were so unmotivated that they spread that frustration to the whole class.

The turning point came in secondary school. My best teacher — an older, honest lady — confessed that she also didn't have a natural aptitude for math and had only studied it because of family pressure.

But she told me that she had discovered something crucial over the years: (real) math has little to do with how it is taught in school. It's a shame that most people never experience its true usefulness in practical life.

Instead of giving me more answers, she lent me a book and taught me how to find solutions on my own. That gesture changed my life. Since then, I have understood something fundamental: the difference between demotivation and learning lies in having someone to guide and inspire you as you tackle difficult subjects.

I graduated with a law degree, but I never stopped improving my math skills. Today, I am pursuing a second degree in sociology and preparing for my doctorate.

After all this, the most rewarding thing is being able to interpret and question statistical data in depth, use financial mathematics to plan my financial independence, and invest wisely.

I am a mathematics teacher who firmly believes that everyone can understand this subject when taught correctly.

My approach focuses on meaningful knowledge transfer, where each student reasons, thinks, and builds their own learning rather than memorising meaningless formulas.

My teaching system combines the best practices of the most successful teachers:

- Infinite patience: I understand that frustration is part of the process. I repeat as many times as necessary, from different perspectives, without judgement.

- Adaptation to learning styles: I recognise that every mind works differently (visual, auditory, mechanical, intuitive) and adapt my explanations accordingly.

- Personalised preparation: Before each class, I analyse your needs and goals to optimise every minute.

- Connection between concepts: I use demonstrative methods that relate concepts (such as geometry with calculus) so that you understand the reasoning behind each formula.

- Theory + practice: Theory is always explained in conjunction with examples and practical exercises that make learning memorable.

- Undergraduate: Differential and Integral Calculus I, Probability and Statistics, Mathematics for Social Sciences and Economics.
