About Graham

I am a passionate flute tutor dedicated to helping students develop musical skill, creativity, and confidence. My teaching combines mentorship, accountability, and critical thinking to guide students effectively. I focus on tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while nurturing expressive musicality. I also include music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to strengthen overall musicianship. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, composition, and musical storytelling. I guide students to set goals, practice consistently, and stay accountable. Mistakes are treated as valuable learning opportunities and steps toward growth. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s pace, level, and personal interests. I act as a mentor, offering guidance, motivation, and constructive feedback. Lessons are structured but engaging, balancing technical work with creative exploration. I emphasize reflection, problem-solving, and independent thinking in every session. My goal is to help students develop confidence, discipline, and a love for music. I also teach related subjects such as performance skills, theory, and rhythm. I create a positive, supportive, and motivating environment for learning. My ultimate aim is to help students become expressive, confident, and lifelong learners of music.

About the lesson

My flute teaching philosophy is all about creativity, growth, and guidance. I believe that learning music should help students express themselves and think deeply. I act as a mentor who supports and challenges students in equal measure. Accountability helps keep lessons organized and progress steady. I encourage each learner to take responsibility for their practice and improvement.

My lessons mix structure and creativity to make learning enjoyable. I focus on building tone, rhythm, and technique through interactive exercises. Students learn how to listen, analyze, and reflect on their playing. I include music theory, rhythm drills, and improvisation to strengthen understanding.
