Hello, dear chess friends, and welcome to my profile!
My name is Chris, and I am a 21-year-old chess enthusiast from Glasgow. I have just finished my 3rd year as an undergraduate student studying Accounting and Finance at Strathclyde University.
As someone who has never had a chess coach, I have went from being a complete beginner at chess to a national champion, local club champion (Phones Chess Club, Glasgow) and former Scotland Under 18 player in just 5 years, and I believe that with the right training and attitude, anyone has the potential to become a strong chess player!

TEACHING METHODOLOGY:
With peak ratings of 1995 ECF, 1785 FIDE standard, 2273 chess com and 2413 lichess all achieved whilst being a completely self-taught player, I know what topics are most useful for students to study to help see the greatest improvements in their play.
For every student, I will devise an individual training plan, assessing their own strengths and weaknesses. During lessons I will occasionally play training games against students, where I will tailor my playstyle accordingly to align with themes discussed during the past few lessons I've had with specific students.
I will also assign every student homework to ensure they have a sound understanding of areas identified as requiring more attention discussed during lessons.
All lessons will be recorded so that students can look over them in their own time if they are unsure of anything. I will also create a Lichess study for the student for each individual lesson which will contain all the content discussed during that specific lesson.
COACHING ABILITY:
I am able to coach all beginner to advanced players, up until approximately 1800 chess com/2100 lichess rating.
LESSON LENGTH:
All lessons will last one hour.
