About Cathy

I have been a teacher my whole life! I started with teaching public school on the Uintah-Ouray reservation in Utah, where I learned to relate to learners where they were, including being responsive and positive about culture. Then I got my MA, during which time I taught as a graduate assistant and later as part-time faculty at BYU. I spent many years working in neighborhood and alternative schools, and after that, taught university-level writing. I then accepted a job teaching English and Art in a juvenile-corrections facility as well as running a full art program in a junior high school. I have also taught English and Art online at the high-school and college levels, most recently for Ashford University.

About the lesson

I have a BA with a major in English and a minor in Spanish, as well as an MA in American Literature with a Creative Writing Emphasis. I also have a teaching minor in Visual Arts, if anyone wants to add some drawing or painting to the mix.

I have taught English at the junior-high, high school, and university levels. I can help remedial learners as well as gifted and talented. I have taught university writing (essay and research writing) online and face-to-face for a dozen years.
