About Bushra

Hello! My name is Bushra, and I am a Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan, with a strong passion for drawing, painting, and creative education.

I completed an advanced course in Drawing and Sketching from the Toronto School of Arts, and I have participated in numerous national and international art competitions. My artwork has also been accepted by Amnesty International, which was a meaningful opportunity in my artistic journey.

I have had the opportunity to work with respected cultural and artistic organizations, including Orleans House Gallery in England and the Royal Ontario Museum. These experiences have given me a broader appreciation of art, creativity and the importance of making art accessible and enjoyable.

Alongside my own artistic experience, I have experience organizing and managing art and craft workshops for both children and adults. I particularly enjoy working with beginners and helping students discover their creativity in a comfortable and encouraging environment.

My teaching approach is structured, patient and step-by-step. I believe students learn best when they understand the techniques behind what they are creating rather than simply copying a finished picture. I gradually introduce new skills and build on what students have already learned.

I teach drawing, sketching, charcoal, soft pastels and hard pastels, and I adapt my lessons according to the student's age, experience and goals.

Whether you are looking for art lessons for your child or you are a beginner wanting to develop your own artistic skills, my goal is to help you build confidence, develop strong foundations and enjoy the creative process.

About the lesson

Learn, Create and Enjoy Art!

My art lessons are designed for children and beginners who want to explore their creativity while developing strong artistic skills in a fun, supportive and structured environment.

I teach a variety of traditional art techniques, including drawing, sketching, charcoal drawing, soft pastel painting and hard pastel painting. Whether your child is completely new to art or already enjoys drawing and wants to improve, I adapt the lessons to their age, level and individual goals.

My Teaching Approach

My lessons are structured and progressive, so students can build their skills step by step rather than learning random techniques from one lesson to another. I believe that a good foundation is important for developing confidence and becoming a better artist.

I guide students through techniques such as:

Basic shapes, lines and proportions
Sketching and observation skills
Light, shadow and shading
Texture and depth
Blending and layering
Colour techniques
Charcoal techniques
Soft and hard pastel techniques
Creating complete artworks from start to finish

At the same time, I want students to enjoy art and have the freedom to be creative. I am patient and encouraging, and I adjust my teaching pace according to each student's ability.

What to Expect in a Lesson

Each lesson follows a clear structure. We begin by reviewing what the student has previously learned, followed by a warm-up or practice activity. I then introduce a new technique or concept, demonstrate it step by step, and guide the student as they practise it themselves.

As students progress, we gradually move from basic skills to more detailed drawings and finished artworks. I also provide feedback throughout the lesson and help students understand how they can improve.

What to Expect in Your Free 30-Minute Trial Lesson

Your free trial lesson is a friendly introduction where we get to know each other and discuss your artistic goals.

During the trial lesson, I will:

Get to know you or your child and your interests
Discuss your goals and what you would like to learn
Understand your current drawing experience and skill level
Discuss whether you are interested in drawing, sketching, charcoal or pastels
Do a short hand warming drawing activity
Recommend a structured learning plan suited to your goals and interests
Answer any questions you may have about the lessons

No previous experience is required! Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some drawing experience, I will guide you step-by-step and help you develop your skills and confidence.
