About Sze

Hello! I’m a native Cantonese speaker originally from Hong Kong, now based in Vancouver, with over 16 years of experience teaching languages to learners of all ages. I’ve taught children, teenagers, adults, and heritage learners, both in schools, in small groups, and one-on-one. I truly believe it’s never too early or too late to learn or re-learn a language! I hold a Master of Education from the University of British Columbia, a Master’s degree in Linguistics, and a Bachelor of Education. I’m also TESL- and TCSOL-certified, and a licensed teacher in both BC and Hong Kong. These qualifications allow me to offer lessons that are not only fun and conversational, but also clear, structured, and tailored to your level and goals. My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and adaptable—whether you enjoy learning through conversation, storytelling, interactive activities, or a more linguistically structured approach. I love sharing not just the language, but also Cantonese culture, traditions, and daily expressions you won’t find in textbooks.
