I am a recent college graduate with a BS in Microbiology. I tutored biology, microbiology, calculus, and biochemistry for the academic success center at Iowa State University for 3 years! Additionally, I worked as an undergraduate microbiology laboratory teaching assistant!

Something that I've learned from tutoring over the years is that active learning strategies in addition to lecture work best for long term material retention. This means that tutees are required to actively participate in sessions via brainstorming ideas, coming up with practice test questions, or working in groups to summarize a topic. I like to create lesson plans or "worksheets" before each session (depending on the student level) to guide my tutoring sessions. Questions are encouraged and a positive, encouraging attitude is always maintained!

Details
Rates remain the same in all cases. For a cancelation policy, as long as I am alerted by email or phone within 24 hours of the session, the tutee will not be charged. However, a "no show" without letting me know will still result in the tutee being charged for the session due to prep time on my end.
