About Salit
I am a belly dance performer, certified instructor, percussionist, and founder of SHEBA Bellydance- an organization providing belly dance shows and lessons based in NYC.
My certificates include Bellydance Teaching by Bellyqueen (2015) and The Wingate Institute of Sport (2010), Group Fitness Instructor by AFAA (2020), Perinatal Fitness by AFAA (2020) and more.
I've taught thousands of students so far, performed at multiple restaurants, clubs and private events all over NYC, NJ, and CT, appeared on NBC’s Today Show, PIX11’s NY Living, in a Time Magazine Online video feature, and on the A Little Lighter belly dance podcast.
My work has also been featured at events including Festival International in Louisiana, Barbes in the Woods, and the Art of the Belly Festival, where I have taught and performed.
I perform regularly with Yallah Yallah band and have been a member of a Lebanese folklore group, performing dabke and drumming at weddings and cultural celebrations for eight years

Whether you're completely new to bellydance, have never taken a dance class before, or you're ready to take your dancing to the next level we will work together at your pace to bring the best out of you while enjoying every moment of the journey.
Our lesson will always start with a good warm up to prepare your body and mind and keep you moving safely.
Depending on your goals, lessons can include:
Focused technique, conditioning and posture improvement, combinations, custom choreography, coaching and developing your own choreography, stylization, musicality, finger cymbals, props, and improvisational skills.
Cultural and historical context and information will be provided for a well-rounded education, making you a knowledgable and proficient dancer.
We always end our session with stretching and relaxation to make sure your body gets the care it needs after working it deeply.
