About Theresa

I make learning fun, because that's how it should be. I like being silly as well because how fun is homework without some laughter involved? My son loves doing his homework with me. We dedicate time together every night and how far he has come is nothing short of amazing!

About the lesson

I am currently a Lead Child Care teacher at a before and after school program at a school in my city. Approximately 60-70 elementary school students attend. We do a lot of creative work using STEM, as well as homework help. When I first started this passion I knew I had the support and empathy for children. I am so very close to these kids and they all line up for me to help them with their homework. Another teacher who works with me says I do it in such a way that is fun. During the mornings, one of my little first graders immediately sits with me and writes creative books together. She absolutely loves doing it! I have a passion for helping children. I love watching them learn, grow and be creative and not be afraid of trying different ways of learning. We have many autistic and children with behavioral issues as well and it is so fulfilling when I find they learned something new and get so excited!
I am a single full-time mommy as well to a 9-year-old third grader! He is one smart cookie. He does many essays and a lot of math for his homework. I have found with my help his essays are so close to perfect and he has a great time reading funny books I purchase him that he writes his essays on. To teach my child and do the same with other children and hear his class teachers how happy I am there for them is fulfilling and just makes my heart happy. These years are so important for these children, and to be a part of their success, increased grades, and their excitement to learn is so gratifying! When I met these children the day I started, they would not even touch a pencil! It's the best feeling. Please let me help your elementary school student! They will learn and love to learn before you blink an eye!
