About Michaela
My name is Michaela (she/her) and I am grateful to live on the unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I obtained my JD from the University of Victoria in 2022. As a summer and articling student, I worked in public interest law and I clerked at a provincial superior court. As a law student, I found my stride once I developed note-taking, outlining, and studying strategies that helped me distill and simplify the content to boost my comprehension. This ensured that I felt confident walking into exams. These strategies also transferred to interview and moot prep. If this sounds like a good fit, I would love to be part of your learning.

Sessions are available online or in person at a cafe in Vancouver. I am happy to assist with: moot preparation and feedback; exam preparation, including note-taking, outlining, and studying strategies; interview preparation and feedback; legal research and writing skills; comprehension of first-year constitutional and torts classes; and comprehension of upper-year courses, including environmental law, administrative law, Aboriginal law, refugee law, and civil procedure courses. During our first session, we will discuss your learning style and develop a plan to achieve your learning goals. If you choose to continue with tutoring, we will periodically check in to ensure we are achieving your goals.
