About Oliver

I am a student at the University of Leeds. I am currently studying Chinese (Mandarin) and Business. I moved to France when I was 5. I speak French and English fluently. I also speak a bit of Spanish and Mandarin. In the past, I have tutored French and Maths from home (in my kitchen).

About the lesson

It always starts simply. The student must understand the core concepts before we can go any further. I don't aim high with my students immediately. I like to make sure that their knowledge is well-grounded before I start talking. Otherwise, there is a possibility that they will have absolutely no idea what I am talking about. I believe that you should "compare yourself to who you were yesterday and not who someone else is today". Taking small incremental steps on the way to achieving much larger goals just makes sense in my eyes. We have all had different experiences and learn at different paces and in different ways.

Our lessons have been going very well so far. Despite not learning any French since GCSE, Alistair's French is impressive. I am sure that Alistair's French can still advance leaps and bounds. I hope to continue learning together for a while to come.
