About Sasha

I studied Mandarin at university and spent a year abroad immersed in the language, which gave me both strong linguistic skills and a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. Living and studying in a Mandarin-speaking environment allowed me to develop confidence in everyday communication while also gaining insight into the cultural context that shapes the language.

I have always enjoyed languages and the way they open up new ways of understanding the world. Mandarin, in particular, is a fascinating language to learn, and I enjoy helping students discover that it can be both accessible and fun with the right approach.

Through tutoring, I aim to make Mandarin approachable, engaging, and rewarding for students of all ages. I enjoy adapting lessons to each learner’s goals and helping students build confidence step by step, whether they are learning for school, travel, or personal interest.

About the lesson

I offer personalised Mandarin tutoring for students of all levels, from complete beginners to those preparing for GCSE or A-Level Chinese. My lessons focus primarily on building students' confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through structured but engaging practice.

My teaching approach is patient, interactive, and tailored to each student’s goals. I combine vocabulary building, conversation practice, and practical exercises to make the language feel natural and usable. For exam students, I focus on past-paper practice, grammar clarification, and strategies for approaching listening and reading comprehension.

Lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adult learners.
