About Alveena
I find English genuinely interesting, particularly the way literature allows us to explore different ideas, perspectives and interpretations. Having studied English Literature at King’s College London, I have developed a strong understanding of literary analysis and essay writing. I am also familiar with GCSE mark schemes and understand what examiners are looking for, from clear analysis and use of evidence to well-structured arguments. I want to use this knowledge to help students enjoy English while developing the skills and confidence they need to perform well in their exams.

I can support students with both English Language and Literature, helping them develop confidence, analytical skills and stronger written expression. Lessons can cover reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, text analysis, quotations, themes, literary techniques and GCSE exam preparation.
My teaching approach is friendly, patient and tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style. I aim to make lessons engaging while helping students understand how to approach questions, structure effective answers and develop their own ideas.
I can also provide support with homework, revision and coursework, as well as helping students prepare for GCSE examinations.
Whether your child needs additional support with a particular topic, wants to improve their grades, or simply wishes to become more confident in English, I can provide focused and encouraging tuition.
