About Jane
Passionate and dedicated elementary T.A. Honours teacher with 20 years of experience in various specialties. Skilled in engaging students on all levels through creative teaching methods, including physical demonstrations, drawn illustrations, and visual presentations. Certified in speech and Phoneme Touch and Say program, enabling effective teaching to students with delays, impediments or leaning the English language. Specializing in early literacy, numeracy and speech.
I have also authored and illustrated two books "I Know My Letter Sounds, version 1 " a Phoneme Touch and Say book with support from renowned speech pathologist Jill Hicks, enabling children worldwide to learn speech, language, and literacy through sign-based methods. “I Know My Letter Sounds, version 2” which is also focused on literacy and movement “Strike a Pose”.

Summary of typical lesson plan cycles:
- Letter recognition and sounds via hand cues, songs from my books and phoneme awareness and blends
- Start with the first set of Dolch sight words and work our way up while reviewing blends and phoneme awareness.
-Start the RAZ-Kids reading program and work our way through levels while still reviewing blends etc.
- Numeracy will start with assessing your child’s knowledge and work from there, making sure their activities are fun and interactive
Reports will go home to parents monthly along with weekly practice activities
