About Alice

I have been relearning math since 2015. It is my belief that math is being taught wrong in schools. School teaches math by rote memorization, which is an awful way to learn for most. The best way to learn math is to have a goal and a real-world application. It also helps when math is visualized in a 3D space. If you were in school before 2015, 3D math animations were not a thing most students were exposed to, know about, or really grasp the implications of. If you've read this far, you have a goal, and you also have a mental block or two that needs a jump start. Animating math can really help you visualize what's going on, and my strategy with students is to push 3D visualization as much as possible with students who do not process numbers mentally the way schools seem to expect everyone to do. Goals are much more motivating than grades. And while grades are important, mindlessly solving equations without a real-world purpose does not sustain you past graduation. Every piece of technology you use today requires math to understand it, especially computers and any piece of software you happen to use. If you want that understanding, but don't know where to start, look no further! The first hour is free, and we will use it to get a feel for what your goals are and what type of math you need to learn to achieve them. If it takes longer than an hour? First session is still free no matter how long it takes! "Math" sounds really vague, and that is intentional! You may not know what subsection of math is most beneficial to you right now. We will figure that out before you pay a dime. Past that point, you will set a goal for yourself and we will achieve it over the span of multiple sessions. We will also set a schedule and make sure that this plan works for your budget as well as your brain.
