About Ngiyabonga

I am based in Boskruin, Randburg. I completed matric in December 2020, at Randpark High School. I previously offered part time maths tutoring to one Grade 9 and Grade 10 scholar. As a result of the part time tutoring I offered, the scholar managed to achieve an 18% increase in her Grade 10 maths final exam results, which saw her pass and proceed to grade 11. I have always been an A+ student in maths. I achieved 91% on my preliminary results for maths. I have enrolled to study law at the University of Swansea.

About the lesson

I identified the sections on which she struggles with as well lessons/ sections that they will be undertaking eg. trigonometry. I will prepare myself for the tutoring lesson prior to it, by reviewing and going over the material we will be doing. During the tutoring lesson, I will show them examples, which we will do together and provide steps/guides on how to do it. I will also give them homework to do on their own, while I am with them as well after the tutoring session, following the guides/steps I put together for them. If they struggled, I would be available on WhatsApp to help them through. I also had to identify the key challenges that they was facing i.e. my student had a lot of anxiety thinking about maths because she struggled so much and I had to help her overcome the anxiety. I would talk to her and get her back story, give her breathing techniques and what to do in an exam when she gets anxious. I did face to face tutoring.
