As a tutor, my primary goal is to facilitate understanding and foster a love for learning. My approach is student-centered and adaptive, focusing on: active engagement, feedback and reflection, and practical application.
My class structure usually has 5 sections: 1.Introduction (briefly review previous material), 2.Review (review old concepts), 3.Present new concepts (using a mix of explanations, examples, and multimedia resources; encourage questions and interaction to ensure comprehension), 4.Guided practice (work through problems or activities together, gradually allowing students to take more responsibility); 5.Summarize key points (address any remaining questions and discuss the next steps or homework, assessment-if applicable).
My lessons are mainly for students from middle school to high school. Since I am a college student, I have opportunities to approach to technology resources and have the similar mindset with middle and high school students. It will be easier for students to openly communicate as well as ask questions because of my age. I also foster a respectful environment where everyone can freely express concern and questions.
