About Giancarlo
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at The Juilliard School, studying with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and Julian Martin.
Throughout my experience as a pianist, I have had the honor of being recognized both locally and nationally, with accolades including top prizes at the National YoungArts Foundation, the Steinway & Sons Jr. Piano Competition, Concerto Competitions in South Florida, and more. However, my passion for music has been translated through teaching as well, such as with my most recent position in the non-profit organization, “Through the Staff”. I also had the joy of teaching privately to several young students in my hometown of West Palm Beach, FL.
Not to mention, being that I am taking a leave of absence from Juilliard this semester, I can be extremely flexible with scheduling and workload, at least for the coming months. I prefer to travel within Manhattan, but I am open to travelling to other NYC boroughs if necessary! I am also comfortable teaching any levels of piano, both in-person and online

My teaching approach is very student-oriented, and I make sure that short-term and long-term goals are aimed for! My focus is on classical music, but based on a student's level, I may gear attention toward fundamentals prior to diving into repertoire. However, if your interest is not in classical music, but you are simply hoping to build dexterity and comfortability at the piano, you have come to the right place!
Having been blessed with such wonderful teachers throughout my entire life, it would be an honor to carry on their legacy to new, driven students; I believe that what separates a great teacher from a good teacher is one that does not simply tell a student what to do, but rather shows them how to do what they are already doing, even more efficiently. Individuality and self-expression are traits I want to help foster; that is the teacher that I aspire to be.
All in all, I am always incredibly enthusiastic to share my insights and experiences with students who embody curiosity and potential!
