About Juan

Juan is an experienced teacher with more than 5 years of teaching practice in schools, teaching ABRSM Cello and Piano, Music GCSE and ABRSM Music Theory.

He is currently the Director of Music at a secondary school and is an active orchestral musician at the Woodford Symphony Orchestra.

Juan has always had a passion for music, driving him to be self-taught in a number of instruments from an early age and falling in love with cello, led him to pursue a career in music.

About the lesson

In the first lesson, Juan will assess the level you are at and music taste, to tailor the teaching method and selection of pieces, so you make progress and enjoy learning the instrument and pieces of music you like.

Your lessons will include technical knowledge and exercises, instrument and theory knowledge, practice routines and new music every so often. During each lesson Juan will regularly monitor your progress to understand strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement, this is so your weekly independent practice is well organised and targeted to your specific needs.
