About Ellie
I am a passionate violin tutor with 5 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students grow as technically skilled, confident, and expressive musicians.
I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams. One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been witnessing students progress from hesitant beginners to confident performers capable of playing with skill, expression, and emotional depth.
My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a complete musical education.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, foster discipline, and cultivate a lifelong love for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to create well-rounded musicians who are confident, expressive, and technically skilled. Lessons are structured yet flexible, combining technical practice, creative exercises, improvisation, and performance preparation tailored to each student’s learning style.
Motivation is central. I guide students to set short-term and long-term goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones. This fosters engagement, perseverance, and a love for learning and performing music.
Communication ensures lessons are collaborative, interactive, and supportive. Students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing challenges, and exploring ideas freely, which strengthens trust and encourages active learning.
Creativity is a key component. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to develop their personal artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice, respect for learning, and consistency, ensuring students establish long-term habits that support growth.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing students with a holistic foundation in music. This methodology nurtures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement.
