About Dave
I became an enthusiastic reader when I was 8 years old.
My teachers taught me to understand words by connecting letter sounds, and I had access to books at school, at home and at the public library. I soon began to discover the experiences and information waiting for me in books. That early gratification eventually would lead me to my. journalism degree At Michigan State University and a career in advertising and publishing.
Today I look forward to sharing that love of reading with other people at any ages. I firmly believe I am on this earth to help others. One of the ways I can do that is to help them enjoy a better life through reading.

My beginner-level reading instruction focuses on practicing the sounds of each letter and connecting those sounds to pronounce words and express thoughts.
Young adult reading focuses on practice reading at age-appropriate levels. The intent is to improve student self-confidence in their comprehension and vocabulary skills.
Mature adult instruction emphasizes practice reading and learning to synthesize complex thoughts for greater comprehension and recall.
Lesson plans feature progressively more challenging and rewarding practice sessions. Goals are outlined but determined by student student growth.
Throughout all this, relationship with the student is all-important. If the student finds the sessions rewarding, he or she will look forward to more practice. Student gratification in this learning process Is essential to opening the world of information and gratification available to them through reading.
