About Samuel
My name is Sam, I am from Kingston Upon Thames in South-West London. My dad was a rock god wannabe, spending his life playing his electric guitar. I knew from an early age that I wanted to get to a level where I could jam along with him. Starting with piano lessons at the age of 8, I worked my way up to playing Solfeggietto (the song Skinny Pete in Breaking Bad shows off with) in all the school assemblies. I then moved onto the guitar, but found myself playing basslines instead. Naturally drawn to the low end, I realised that bass was my calling. I am always challenging myself to play harder and harder lines, and learn more and more on theory, so that I can transfer the ideas I have in my head onto the neck. I hope to get you doing the same. I have played in rock tribute bands, original alt rock and metal bands, and have a YouTube channel where I like to post what I have been working on. I am currently a civil engineering student in Southampton, but music will always be my passion.

I love to play all styles of music, and love to challenge myself with all styles of playing. I first started playing when I turned 12 years old, inspired to pick up the bass guitar by the legendary Geddy Lee after hearing YYZ for the first time. Since then, I have been doing all I can to challenge myself further and further, whilst always having fun in the process. I am now 26, and playing the full Rush catalogue, it was worth it. I had lessons for the first few years, and have been self-taught ever since. I am hoping to give lessons to those who are starting out, and need the guidance to stick with it, to be a friend that can give guidance to improve your skills while jamming together to your favourite tracks. I am also open to giving lessons to more intermediate players, that are looking to take their playing to the next level, so that they can become a YouTube master like Juliaplaysgroove. Let's slap, pluck, tap, and groove through some theory, always targeted at getting you to a level where you can efficiently play anything that comes to your mind; be that rock, metal, funk, soul, jazz or pop. 30 minute and 1 hour lessons are available.
