John Hatcher is a seasoned music educator with over 30 years of experience teaching and performing across a wide range of genres. Starting his musical journey at just 6 years old with the guitar, John’s passion for music has only deepened over the years. He is an accomplished musician skilled in electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, as well as banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, piano, and drums. John’s expertise spans multiple styles including rock, metal, country, blues, bluegrass, jazz, and classical fingerpicking. As a teacher, John is fluent in both traditional music notation and tablature, guiding students through scales, modes, phrasing, rhythm, chord progressions, improvisation, and hand/finger dexterity. He strives to instill a deep understanding of music theory while helping students build their confidence and creativity on their instrument. Beyond teaching, John has an impressive professional background in music. He has worked with renowned studios like Old Dog Records, Omega 4 Studios, and Celestial Sound Studios, creating soundtracks for numerous documentaries. His live performances have taken him across the United States, playing in cities such as Los Angeles, Nashville, Memphis, and Orlando. He has shared the stage with artists and bands like The Larry Black Band, Smokey Jackson Band, The Dream Lake Project, Cyrus, The Southern Breeze Band, and Pulverized Crush, and even had the proud opportunity to perform with the band Infidel. John obtained his music degree at the University of Central Florida, focusing on Guitar, Piano, Percussion, Music Theory, Music History, and Sound Tracking.
