About Jewel
A PhD student in Stroke research at the University of Nottingham, with a very strong scientific background. I am incredibly passionate about science and find it extremely rewarding to pass on my knowledge to others. I have tutored students in maths and science at secondary and GCSE level, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. The student I have tutored cover a range of academic abilities and learning styles. Nonetheless, all students have shown sustained improvement and an improvement in results! I am very flexible in my approach, and tailor all lessons towards the specific needs of each individual student. I aim to support students in assignments, revision and intense exam preparation. Initially, we will discuss what we hope to achieve, and plan a course of action. The student is then tracked throughout the year to ensure they are meeting their targets and to highlight any potential areas of improvement. My passion for science and thirst for knowledge are what underpin my success so far. I hope to instil this into all my students and inspire them to achieve great results. This highly prestigious award is given to student who achieves the highest percentage in a Biology-based degree at their University.
