About Roima
l am a young marine biologist currently studying at James Cook University Townsville, Australia getting my Master's Degree. l graduated from Auckland University of Technology Auckland, New Zealand with a Bachelor's Degree in marine biology. l have experience working in a chemistry lab doing ocean acidification research. l have been a teachers assistant to ecology and biology students helping them in the field and during lab practicals. l have hands on experience working with sea turtles at a sea turtle rehabilitation center in Costa Rica as well as hands on experience working with both marine and freshwater fish. l have also worked with wild land animals such as lions, tigers and yes-bears at a wildlife sanctuary. l graduated in the top 10% of my undergraduate class at AUT. l am confident in my work performance both in the classroom/lab and out in the field. I am a patient and efficient tutor and will move at whatever pace works best for my students. l also believe that there is always a way to make learning more fun than tedious.

My teaching method is to first understand what the student is struggling with, work that out and then move on. Learning the basics is the best place to begin and building on those will result in (hopefully) success of mastering whatever problem was first at hand. l am very patient and calm, so more than okay to go slowly and believe that receptiveness is key to mastering complex theories and practices. l am also very organized and precise which goes a long way when trying to understand complicated biology.
