I approach my lessons with a simple method of
Revising old content from the week before to jog up their memory
Polish little mistakes that they have in the revising stage
Teach new content for them to learn
Showing them what we're learning next time as a way of looking forward to something
This ensures that the student is always engaged in what they do and there might be cases where some students find it hard to keep up with this class and sometimes there are students who are fast learners and zoom ahead. I make sure that everyone is somehow learning something and for cases like these I like to let the fast learners teach the students who find it hard to keep up so it challenges them and teaches them new skills.
I am a first-year jazz performance with guitar student studying at The New Zealand School of Music. Prior to my study, I have volunteered as a guitar teacher at GoodTime Music Academy in Alicetown, Lower Hutt, and taught children aged 9 to 12 how to play guitar. I also taught group guitar lessons at my previous study at Sacred Heart College, Lower Hutt.
Since I am a busy student, if a student wishes to cancel 24 hours or less before their lesson, there will be a $20 cancellation fee
