About (E) Sloane
My guitar teaching approach blends classic musicianship with modern technology to make learning clear, creative, and motivating. I use tools like chord visualizers so students can see shapes and progressions in a simple, visual way. It makes complex ideas easier to understand. Loop pedals are another favorite in my lessons. They allow us to build grooves, practice timing, and experiment with layered parts in real time.
Interactive apps help us develop tempo control and rhythm accuracy through engaging exercises. I also introduce recording software so students can track their playing and hear their progress. Small improvements become easy to notice. We explore techniques like harmonics, tone control, and phrasing while applying them in practical musical situations. For students who enjoy creating, I guide them through songwriting using DAWs and simple production tools. Multi-track practice lets learners stack melodies, chords, and rhythm parts like a real recording session.
This approach works well for students who enjoy technology, benefit from a bit of structure, or like learning through both visual and auditory feedback. It also supports creative learners who want to express their own musical ideas. Every lesson is designed to feel organized, interactive, and inspiring. My goal is to make practice feel purposeful, creative, and exciting every time you pick up the guitar.

My guitar journey began as a curious, self-taught teenager trying to copy the riffs of my favorite songs. I spent hours replaying tracks, pausing, rewinding, and slowly figuring out how those sounds were made. It was challenging, but incredibly exciting. That early passion eventually led me to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music with a focus on guitar. Formal training helped me understand the theory behind the sounds I loved. It also shaped the way I teach today.
Over the past three years, I’ve been helping students decode the guitar in a way that feels clear and encouraging. I believe learning should be patient, practical, and often a little funny. One of my favorite tools is my “riff breakdown” method. We take a complex riff and unpack it step by step until it becomes natural to play. I also enjoy running real-time songwriting challenges during lessons. They help students think creatively and build confidence with the instrument.
My goal is simple: make guitar feel less mysterious and more joyful. With practical hacks, supportive guidance, and a relaxed learning space, progress becomes something you look forward to. Let’s turn your daily practice into a daily joy.
