About VIHANGI
The official mandarin proficiency test is called the HSK. Currently, there are 6 levels, HSK 1 being the most basic and HSK 6 being the most advanced. If you have never learnt mandarin before, you would be starting with HSK 1. For HSK 1 we provide a 30 hour course. This can go up to 34 if the student needs more time/practice. All the study material, including a textbook, workbook, practice sheets, audio files and mock tests, will be provided by us. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to pass the HSK 1 exam. However, the student can decide whether or not they want to give the HSK exam.

Class Modality & Study Material:
Following the COVID-19 safety guidelines, all classes are conducted online, a link to join will be sent to the student on WhatsApp/email (whichever the student prefers) before each class. A soft copy of all the study material will be sent to the student as required.
Syllabus & Learning Objectives
The student will be able to read and understand typical expressions and sentences, introduce themselves, listen and comprehend conversations about topics regularly encountered in daily life and classroom situations, and pick up short conversations.
The HSK 1 Contains roughly 50 or so Chinese characters that you need to learn and around 500 vocabulary words.
There are a total of 15 chapters and some additional notes from the trainer that will cover the following:

• Verbs
• Adjectives
• Adverbs
• Particles
• Tenses
• Numbers
• Days & Dates
• Time
• Directions
• Question sentences
• Useful expressions
• Money & Currency
