About Therese
I am a retired senior who loves to read, and I love children. I have not tutored reading before but I have an enthusiasm to teach others not only how to learn to read better, but to enjoy what they read.

Everyone learns differently. Some learn better by listening and then following the advice given. Others learn better by doing as they are being taught. Some learn better by visualizing the outcome. My teaching method is a combination of these. I read and the student follows, then they read and I assist them to learn pronunciation and understanding of what they've read. When appropriate, a story with role playing can create excitement and a better understanding. I will assist them with their school work, and also introduce them to topics that they have an interest in learning more about.
